In partnership with Rancho El Refugio, formerly operated by Azusa Pacific University – Mexico Outreach, our campus is nestled on 17 peaceful acres approximately 9 miles east of Ensenada, Baja California, Mexico. Visitors can enjoy beautiful sunsets, while clear evenings reveal the sparkling lights of Ensenada in the distance.
Access to “The Ranch” winds through the scenic vineyards of El Tule, offering a peaceful and welcoming approach to the campus.

Our accommodations are carefully crafted to ensure you find a safe, welcoming, and restful environment after your day of service.
Whether arriving as an individual, small group, or large mission team, we provide tailored lodging options that meet diverse needs with comfort and reliability.
Accommodations at Rancho El Refugio
La Quinta
Capacity: 24 people
La Quinta, the newest two-story housing facility, offers 5 bedrooms each with private bathrooms, a spacious living room, modern kitchen, an expansive dining area with northern mountain views, and laundry facilities.
The Hacienda
Capacity: 22 people
The Hacienda provides a comfortable stay with 4 bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, large dining and living room, plus expansive decks showcasing mountain, ocean, and ranch landscape views.
The Bridge House
Capacity: 14 people
Perched above the staff house, The Bridge House features stunning ocean views from its living room and deck, 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, a full kitchen, and spacious dining and living areas.
Bunk Rooms
Capacity: 33 people
These three bunkbed bedrooms are situated within The Barn, accompanied by 2.5 bathrooms to comfortably serve up to 11 guests.
Tent City
Capacity: 500+ tents
Tent City offers a flat expanse perfect for building your tents, accommodating 500+ tents for an authentic outdoor experience and community feel.
The Barn
Capacity: 800+ People
The main indoor gathering space accommodates over 800 guests and hosts dining, chapels, conferences, events, weddings, and basketball. It features a fully equipped stage with sound and lighting, plus an adjoining commercial kitchen.

Rancho El Refugio offers exceptional facilities designed to support your team’s needs, blending comfort, functionality, and inspiring surroundings.

Enjoy fun and friendly competition with air hockey, ping pong, fuzzball, and board games in the Game Room — perfect for team bonding and relaxation.
Chapel
The Barn Chapel features soaring ceilings and scenic windows, serving as an ideal venue for indoor chapels, leadership meetings, and gatherings of up to 80 attendees.
Bunk Rooms
Three bunkbed bedrooms at The Barn accommodate 11 guests in total and share 2.5 bathrooms, designed for group comfort and easy access.

Throughout the Ranch, discover quiet spots to enjoy breathtaking views. Whether you wish to read, pray, meditate, or engage in conversation, you’ll find the ideal setting. Gather your team for cozy evenings around the fire pit, roasting marshmallows and sharing stories, or celebrate together at the larger bonfire area.

The large outdoor amphitheater, known as “The Ruins,” sits atop the hill above Tent City, offering sweeping views from the mountain range to the ocean. Outfitted with a full stage, lighting, and sound system, it is perfect for outdoor chapel services, concerts, and special events of all sizes.
