Horse Ranch

Hello Bill,

Here is the short version, as far as I know, of Susan Marie Fasino. She is a registered Physical/occupational therapist from San Diego. Over 20 years ago, she came down with a group on a mission trip and immediately found her calling to help those who are forgotten with physical needs.

She would come down regularly, and the visits became more frequent until she made the big move and stayed in Ensenada full time; she married Johnny and is now a Mexican citizen.

When I met her, she was living in a single-wide mobile home with six people, two adults and 4 children. She was attending 12 kids, and now she attends to over 125 children with everything you could imagine, ranging from a variety of needs to being physically handicapped, every spectrum of autism, and psychological needs.

She is well connected with all the Shriners Hospitals to give life-saving surgeries that would be next to impossible to perform here; she is also connected with the local doctors, clinics, and authorities to move things along at a faster rate. She also has connections with immigration authorities to expedite humanitarian visas to send kids to the Shriners Hospitals that can render these life-saving surgeries.

With her new ranch, she has expanded her Horse therapy; she now has a school for kids who cannot go to school; she has paid staff: 4 teachers, a physical therapist, a horse therapist, a psychologist, a speech therapist, and a ranch foreman to feed and maintain the horses. With the expansion of the ranch, Susan and Johnny can host large groups of Medical University groups that can bring the latest medical knowledge and techniques to help the community, young and old, all at no charge.

I have been volunteering at the ranch for over six years, and I have seen kids who could not walk begin to walk, and kids who could not speak begin to speak.
