For 26 years, Ensenada Ministries has shared the love of Jesus with individuals, families, churches, and communities in Ensenada, Mexico. That work happens because ordinary people say yes: teams load the vans, givers underwrite the meals and supplies, and pray-ers hold the whole thing before the Lord. If you have been wondering where you fit, here are three simple doors, and there is a place for you in every one of them.
Go: bring a team
The most hands-on way to serve is to come. Hundreds of mission teams have already made the trip from churches, schools, families, and small groups, and the ministry shapes every week around the people who arrive. Work projects at local churches, children's ministry, food distribution, visits to families, and time at the prison ministry fill the days, with a day on the coast midweek and evenings around the ranch fire pit. No special skills are required and no Spanish is needed; a willing heart is the only requirement. Start with the mission trips page to see what a week looks like, then tell the team your dates and group size. Groups looking for a quieter pace can also bring a retreat or conference to the ranch, where the campus hosts gatherings of every kind.
Give: underwrite the everyday work
Mission teams come and go, but the work in Ensenada runs all year, and your gift is what keeps the doors open between visits. Every dollar becomes something real: a warm meal for a child through Feeding the Kids, groceries for a family, a box of medical supplies delivered with prayer, support for the church home at the women's prison, and the everyday work of sharing the gospel with people who feel they have no hope. Give online through PayPal in a couple of clicks, or send a check by mail, and see the full picture on the donate page. The ministry also welcomes monthly support and church partnerships that sustain the work faithfully, month after month.
Pray: the work runs on prayer
Before a team loads a single paintbrush, before a bag of groceries is handed over, prayer has already gone ahead. You can pray for the children in Feeding the Kids, that every meal comes with a lesson of love they remember forever. Pray for the women at the prison church, that their sanctuary stays a place of hope, worship, and new life. Pray for the missionaries and local pastors who carry the work forward every day, and for the families we serve, that they know they are seen, known, and loved. Then pray for the next team that will load the vans and cross the border, because it may be yours.
Go, give, or pray. Start with whichever fits your season of life, and the Lord will do the rest with it.
